We were approached by L.L. Bean to create a site in celebration of their 100th anniversary that would not only serve as a testament to brand’s heritage throughout the years, but also to celebrate their endeavors moving forward as well.
While tracing their 100-year history through an interactive timeline, the site laid the groundwork for the future as well through its ‘Get Out(fitted) Gear Giveaway’ program which enabled users to apply to receive free gear from L.L. Bean for any number of outdoor adventures. The site also provided a home for Bean’s ‘Million Moment Mission’ through which a myriad of social media interactions (including Facebook Likes, tweets, and photo/story uploads) resulted in the donation of a million dollars to the Natural Park Foundation’s programs for kids. Content for the site was then rounded off with schedules for their Outdoor Discover Schools, their Bootmobile tour, and the L.L. Bean blog.
